Gaslight – at Tockwith Church, 10th and 11th Nov 2011

Unauthorised door-to-door collections

We have received reports that one of our Tockwith Church fundraising money boxes is being used for an unauthorised door to door collection.  So far we have received two reports that a lady, with Alsatian dog, has called on Prince Rupert Drive residents claiming to be collecting for the “Tockwith Church extension”.   Firstly, as you are aware, we are not extending the church, the fundraising is for internal refurbishment of the building.   We do believe that the collection is not being made on our behalf.    One further report has also been received by Tockwith School from a resident living on the Hallfield Estate in Wetherby.   The resident in Wetherby was aware that it was a school money box as on these particular boxes it states they should be returned to the School office.  All pupils have been sent a money box in school bags together with a fundraising letter to parents asking them to support our appeal.

To say the least this is disappointing when such hard work is going on to do “proper” fundraising.

I have, of course, reported these incidents to the police who are now aware of the issue.

Also, if anyone receives further information about this caller please let either Joanna or myself know.

Thanks for your help.

There will be a Band playing and the rest is up to you! If you would like to join us please feel free to bring your gazebo, blanket, picnic, drinks, etc. and find a space on the field to ‘set up camp’!

If you would like to join us in saying a final farewell to Mr Aston please reply by: Friday 15th July 2011

Email: goodbyesteve@hotmail.co.uk

or Phone: 01423 358375

We will be producing a DVD to mark Steve’s time at the school. Any messages/greetings and/or photographs can be emailed as an attachment.

Donations towards his leaving gift can be sent to the school office.

We would please ask that U16’s are accompanied by an adult.
